Securing Britain’s energy

Tony Blair and his Norweign counterpart Jens Stoltenberg enjoy a cup of tea using water boiled by gas from the new UK-Norway gas pipeline On Monday, Tony Blair joined his Norwegian counterpart Jens Stoltenberg at the official launch of a pipeline which will supply up to a fifth of the UK’s gas.  He said in future, energy security "will be almost as important as defence" to the security of a country’s interests.

Mr Blair wrote an open, joint letter with Dutch PM Jan Peter Balkenende to other EU leaders warning of an impending, catastrophic "tipping point" on climate change. We held a webchat with the energy minister this week where global warming was on the agenda too.

Question time

During PMQs the following day, Mr Blair was asked about healthcare, Iraq and nuclear power, as well as violent video games, Northern Ireland and the future for post offices. Don’t forget you can watch PMQs live on our website every Wednesday at 1200 BST.
