Tony Blair wants your questions about the Queen’s Speech

13 November 2006

This week you have the chance to quiz the PM about some of the biggest challenges facing the UK.

The Prime Minister will be answering questions from users of the Downing Street website on Thursday. You’ll be able to watch the interview from around 1430 GMT.

He wants to find out what you think about his plans for tackling climate change, reforming the justice system in favour of the law-abiding, or making sure we all get a decent pension.

On Wednesday the Government’s priorities for the next Parliamentary year will be revealed in the Queen’s Speech, which you’ll be able to watch live here from 1130 GMT.

Mr Blair says that "extending opportunity and security in a changing world" will underpin his plans.

Two journalists - Anne McElvoy and Will Hutton - will be asking the questions on your behalf.

The last time the PM was quizzed in this way, thousands of you emailed in and he covered lots of different topics during the 30-minute session.

More about the Queen’s Speech

The Queen’s Speech takes place once a year and forms the central part of the State Opening of Parliament. It is delivered, by the Queen, in the House of Lords and then debated by both houses.

The content is written by the Government and approved by the Cabinet.
