New Lord Justice of Appeal

The Queen has been pleased to approve that The Honourable Mr Justice Roger Toulson be appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal upon the retirement of Lord Justice Jonathan Parker on the 28 January 2007.

Biographical Note:

The Honourable Mr Justice (Roger) Toulson (60) was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1969 and was made a Bencher in 1995. He was a Recorder of the Crown Court from 1986 until 1996, and took Silk in 1986. He has been a Judge of the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division, from 1996. He served as Presiding Judge on the Western Circuit from 1997 to 2002. He was Chairman of the Law Commission from 2002 to 2006.

Mr Justice Toulson was knighted in 1996.
