Tony Blair is delivering the seventh in his series of Our Nation’s Future lectures in Manchester. This time the focus will be on the role of work in the 21st century.

Changes introduced by the Government in the last decade - the National Minimum Wage, new rights for flexible working, regulations on paid leave entitlement - have made work a more satisfying and better-rewarded experience than ever before. The PM will reflect on the changing nature of work in the modern world and look at the challenges that lie ahead.

As the PM prepared for his lecture, a number of experts in the field submitted papers on the subject.

The authors are independent, and all views and opinions are their own. They do not necessarily agree with Government policy, but each makes an interesting contribution to the debate.
