Robert Dufton re-appointed to The Museum of London

The Prime Minister has re-appointed Robert Dufton Esq to the Board of the Museum of London for a further three years from 15 June 2007.

Biographical Details:

Mr Robert Dufton is the Director of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, one of the UK’s largest independent grant-making organisations, which supports the arts, education, and social justice across the UK and in India. Previously he was Director of the Rayne Foundation (2002 to 2004), an independent grant-making trust supporting the arts, education and social development, and before that a member of the senior management teams of the Heritage Lottery Fund (Deputy Director of Operations 1995 to 2002) and of the national charity Arts and Business (Programme Director & Company Secretary 1992 to 1994). He earlier trained as a solicitor at Lovells, an international law firm, and then worked as a company lawyer in its London and New York offices. He is a member of the Council of the University of Bristol.

Mr Dufton has not been involved in any political activity in the past 5 years

The Museum of London maintains and exhibits collections of the history of London and provides the Museum of London Archaeological Service and the Museum of London Specialist Services. Governors do not receive remuneration.

It is the duty of the Board to care, preserve and add to the collections of the Museum of London, ensure that those objects are exhibited to the public and available to those wishing to carry out research and promote the understanding and appreciation of historic and contemporary London.
