Briefing from the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman on the Prime Minister

Prime Minister

Asked if the Prime Minister would go on to become a Middle East envoy, the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman (PMOS) replied that he had nothing to say on the matter. Put to him that there was an expected announcement on this tomorrow, the PMOS repeated that he had nothing to say.

Asked if it would be correct to say that the Prime Minister already had an office established in Jerusalem, the PMOS replied that if the Prime Minister did, then he did not know about it. Asked if he would know about such an office, the PMOS replied that he was the Prime Minister’s Spokesman, not the ex-Prime Minister’s Spokesman. Asked if he would ask the Prime Minister, and asked where the Lobby should go for answers on this, the PMOS replied that they should wait until Wednesday afternoon.

Asked if it was true that all Cabinet Ministers were asked to hand in their seals of office on Friday, the PMOS replied that he was unable to comment on this as he had been otherwise engaged on Friday.

Asked if the Prime Minister would be having dinner with The Queen tomorrow, the PMOS replied that there was never any intention to have dinner with The Queen tomorrow.
