Christopher Geidt appointed to Privy Council

The Queen has been pleased to approve that Christopher Geidt CVO OBE, be sworn of Her Majesty’s most honourable Privy Council.

Christopher Geidt has been Deputy Private Secretary to The Queen since 2005. In September 2007 he will succeed Sir Robin Janvrin as The Queen’s Private Secretary.

Mr Geidt served with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Sarajevo, Geneva and Brussels, and with the United Nations in Geneva, before being appointed Assistant Private Secretary to The Queen in 2002. He was made an OBE in 1997 (for service in Bosnia) and appointed CVO in 2007.
