The Queen has been pleased to approve that Yvette Cooper MP, be sworn of Her Majesty’s most honourable Privy Council.

Ms Cooper has been Member of Parliament for Pontefract and Castleford since 1997 and Minister of State (Minister for Housing and Planning), Department for Communities and Local Government since 2005. She was a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Department for Health, 1999-2002; Lord Chancellor’s Department, 2002-2003 and Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, 2003-2005.
