The PM met Charlotte Holworthy and Karla Paff from the Appeal, as well as Jem Sandford, a farmer from Somerset who is one of its leading collectors. Mr Brown made the traditional donation and received one of the signature red poppies that commemorates the end of World War I.

The charity provides financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served or who are currently serving in the British Armed Forces, and their dependents.
