The Prime Minister has re-appointed Michael Wilson OBE to the Board of the National Museum of Science and Industry for a period of four years from 13 February 2008.
Biographical Notes
Mr Wilson is a film producer. He worked for the Department of Transportation in Washington DC before joining the law firm of Surrey and Morse. He became a partner in the firm in 1972 specialising in international tax and business transactions. He left in 1974 to join Eon Productions Limited, eventually becoming executive producer of three James Bond films, then going on to co-write or co-produce a number of other Bond films. Most recently he produced, with his sister Barbara Broccoli, the four Bond films starring Pierce Brosnan, and the latest "Casino Royal" starring Daniel Craig.
Michael Wilson is also a leading expert on 19th century photography, which he began collecting in the late 1970’s. In 1998 he formed the Wilson Centre for Photography, an archive for the preservation of early photographs and for study and research on the history and aesthetics of photography. The Centre has an active programme which includes lending photographs for exhibitions at international museums and galleries. He is the chairman of the National Media Museum, formerly the National Museum of Photography, Film, and Television, in Bradford.
Michael Wilson not been involved in any political activity in the last five years.

The National Museum of Science and Industry is the world’s pre-eminent museum group, holding the national collections of science, technology, medicine, transport and media. It operates three of the top museums in the United Kingdom: the Science Museum in London, the National Media Museum in Bradford, and the National Railway Museum in York. A fourth museum, Locomotion was opened at Shildon, County Durham by the former Prime Minister, Tony Blair, in 2004.
