The Queen has been pleased to appoint Mr Michael Brinton DL as Lord-Lieutenant for Worcestershire following the retirement of Sir Thomas Dunne KCVO at the end of July. Sir Thomas will remain as Lord-Lieutenant for Herefordshire.
Biographical Notes
Michael Brinton (59) is Chairman of the family carpet firm of Brintons Ltd in Kidderminster. Mr Brinton is well known and active in the county and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant in 1991. He was President of the British Carpet Manufacturers Association Export Council from 1998 - 2000.
Mr Brinton is married to Angela Brinton DL and they have three grown-up children.
