For the transitional period, Lord Falconer will exercise all the functions of Lord Chancellor as necessary. However, Lord Falconer does not intend to sit as a judge in the House of Lords before the new Supreme Court is established.
Lord Williams will remain the Leader of the House of Lords and will take on additional duties as Lord President of the Council.
Douglas Alexander MP is Minister of State in the Cabinet Office and becomes Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
Ian Pearson MP and Angela Smith MP will now be paid as Parliamentary Under-Secretaries in the Northern Ireland Office. Charlotte Atkins MP and Gillian Merron MP will now be paid as Assistant Government Whips.
