The Queen has been pleased to approve that Professor Marilyn McCord Adams be appointed Regius Professor of Divinity in the University of Oxford in succession to Reverend Professor Keith Webster FBA who will be stepping down on 1st October 2003.
Professor McCord Adams appointment will take effect from 1st January 2004.
Biographical Details
Professor McCord Adams (59) is an American citizen and is currently the Horace Tracy Pitkin Professor of Historical Theology at Yale University. Professor McCord Adams has a considerable publication record, first, in the domain of medieval theology and, second and more recently, in the domain of systematic theology related to contemporary concerns. She has been an ordained priest in the Episcopal Church, in the United States, for 15 years.
