Knighthoods Conferred

The Queen has been pleased to approve that the honour of Knighthood be conferred upon His Honour Judge David Clarke QC, His Honour Judge Richard Wakerley QC and David Richards QC, on their appointment as Justices of the High Court.

David Clive Clarke: Born 1942 and educated at Winchester College; Magdalene College, Cambridge. Called to the Bar, Inner Temple, 1965; QC, 1983; Bencher, 1992; Recorder, 1981-93; practised on Northern Circuit, 1965-93; Senior Circuit Judge and Hon. Recorder of Liverpool since 1997.

Richard MacLennon Wakerley: Born 1942 and educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Called to the Bar, Grays Inn, 1965; QC 1983; Bencher, 1991; practised on Midland and Oxford Circuit, 1965-2001; Recorder, 1982-2001; Senior Circuit Judge and Hon. Recorder of Birmingham since 2001.

David Anthony Stewart Richards: Born 1951 and educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. Called to Bar, Inner Temple, 1974; Junior Counsel (Chancery) DTI, 1989-92; QC, 1992; Bencher, 2000.
