Trustee of the Board of the National Maritime

The Prime Minister has today appointed Jan Kopernicki as a Trustee of the Board of the National Maritime Museum for a period of 4 years.

Biographical Notes

Jan Kopernicki is Vice President of Shipping for the Shell International Trading and Shipping Company. He is Chairman of the Oil Companies’ International Marine Forum, and serves on the board of the UK Chamber of Shipping, the UK P&I Club and the International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation. He is a member of the American Bureau of Shipping and the General Committee and Classification Committee of Lloyd’s Register.

Mr Kopernicki holds no other public appointments and has not been involved in any political activity in the last five years.

The National Maritime Museum illustrates the importance of the sea, ships time and the stars and their relationship with people through its. It includes the Queen’s House and the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Trustees of the National Maritime Museum are not remunerated.
