The Prime Minister has re-appointed Flora Fraser, Alexandra Shulman and Sir John Weston as Trustees of the National Portrait Gallery for a period of four years from 15 October 2004.

Biographical Notes

Flora Fraser, Alexandra Shulman and Sir John Weston were first appointed to the Board of the National Portrait Gallery in October 1999 and have served one term. 

Flora Fraser, writer and historical biographer,  holds no other public appointments.

Alexandra Shulman has been the Editor of Vogue Magazine since1992,  holds no other public appointments and has not been involved in any political activity in the last five years.

Sir John Weston is a former UK Ambassador to the United Nations, holds no other public appointments and has not been involved in any political activity in the last five years.

Notes for Editors

The National Portrait Gallery houses the collection of portraits in various media of eminent persons in British history.  The Gallery aims to promote through the medium of portraits the appreciation and understanding of the men and women who have made and are making British history and culture; and to promote the appreciation and understanding of portraiture in all media.
