Tony Blair has spoken of his ‘revulsion’ at the terror attacks on London last week.
The Prime Minister said that Britain will defeat the terrorists who inflicted the ‘murderous carnage’ of last Thursday’s bomb attacks on London.
He told MPs that the confirmed death toll had risen to 52. Another 56 remain in hospital, some severely injured.
Mr Blair told MPs:
"We are united in our determination that our country will not be defeated by such terror, but will defeat it and emerge from this horror with our values, our way of life, our tolerance and respect for others undiminished."
The Prime Minister said Londoners had shown ’stoicism, resilience and sheer undaunted spirit’.
Following a debate on the attacks, the Prime Minister will make a statement on last week’s G8 summit at Gleneagles.
