Appointment of Lord-Lieutenant for Stirling and Falkirk

The Queen has been pleased to appoint Mrs Marjory McLachlan as Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Stirling and Falkirk following the retirement of Lieutenant Colonel James Stirling of Garden CBE TD FRICS.

Biographical Note

Mrs Marjory McLachlan (63) has been an active member of various charitable committees since 1963, including Cancer Research, Save the Children and Friends of the Falkirk Hospitals. She has also been a past Chairman of the Falkirk branch of Barnados. She is a past President of the Ladies Branch of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club. She was also the Scottish representative to the World Curling Federation from 1991 to 1999 and a Committee member of the British Curling Association from 1994 to 1998. She has been a Deputy Lieutenant since 2001.

Mrs McLachlan is married to Colin and they have two daughters.
