The Prime Minister has re-appointed Rick Mather as a Trustee of the Victoria and Albert Museum for a period of three years from 31 October 2005.
Biographical Details
Rick Mather is the founder of Rick Mather Architects, a firm with a considerable number of award winning projects in the cultural and academic sector. Recently completed work includes the Sloane Robinson Building at Keble College, Oxford, the extension to and renovations of the Dulwich Picture Gallery, the National Maritime Museum, the Wallace Collection, and the Royal Horticultural Society. Current projects include masterplans for London’s South Bank Centre and the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. Work is also underway on the New Towner Gallery in Eastbourne and a new Design Academy for John Moores University, Liverpool. He was selected form an international field of competitors to plan and design a major expansion and renovation of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond(USA). He has previously served on the Councils of the Architectural Association and the Royal Institute of British Architects. Rick is a Trustee of the British Architectural Library Trust (2004 to date)

1. The Victoria & Albert Museum houses collections of fine and applied art, craft and design. It includes the National Art Library, and the Trustees also manage the Theatre Museum and the National Museum of Childhood at Bethnal Green.
