Note for Editors
Helen Ghosh was born in 1956 and educated at St Hugh’s College and Hertford College Oxford. She is married with one daughter and one son.
She joined the Department of the Environment in 1979 and held a series of policy and Private Secretary roles through the 1980s and early 1990s. She was appointed to the Cabinet Office Efficiency Unit in 1995. Thereafter, she moved to a more operationally focused role in the Government Office for London, where she worked as Director for East London Regeneration.
