The Queen approves four new Privy Council Appointments

The Queen has been pleased to approve that Dame Heather Hallett, Sir Alan Moses, Sir Stephen Richards and Sir Nicholas Wilson be sworn of Her Majesty’s most honourable Privy Council on their appointment as Lord Justices of Appeal.

Dame Heather (Carol) Hallett: Born 1949 and educated at St Hugh’s College, Oxford. Awarded DBE, 1999. Called to the Bar, Inner Temple, 1972; QC, 1989; Recorder, 1989-99; Bencher, 1993; Deputy High Court Judge, 1995-99; Leader, South Eastern Circuit, 1995-97; Judge of the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division, 1999; Presiding Judge Wetsren Circuit, 2001-04.

Sir Alan (George) Moses: Born 1945 and educated at University College, Oxford. Awarded Kt, 1996. Called to the Bar, Middle Temple, 1968; a Recorder, 1986-96; QC, 1990; Bencher, 1994; a Judge of the High Court, Queen’s Bench Division since 1996; Presiding Judge, South Eastern Circuit, 1999-2002.

Sir Stephen (Price) Richards: Born 1950 and educated at St John’s College, Oxford. Awarded Kt, 1997. Called to the Bar, Gray’s Inn, 1975; Bencher, 1992; a Recorder, 1996-97; Judge of the High Court, Queen’s Bench Division since 1997; Presiding Judge, Wales and Chester Circuit, 2000-03.

Sir Nicholas (Allan Roy) Wilson: Born 1945 and educated at Worcester College, Oxford. Awarded Kt, 1993. Called to the Bar, Inner Temple, 1967; QC, 1987; a Recorder, 1987-93; Bencher, 1993; Judge of the High Court of Justice, Family Division, 1993.
