Brazil’s president held talks with Tony Blair today as part of his state visit to the UK.
Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva arrived at Number 10 to hold talks on important international issues such as trade, climate change, education and technology.
At a press conference in Downing Street the two leaders issued a joint statement in which they said the talks would "help to deepen and diversify out partnership".

While in the UK the president also chaired a working breakfast with the CBI and British business leaders, as well as visiting Westminster Abbey and attending a state dinner at Buckingham Palace.
Earlier in the week the President’s wife met Mrs Blair in Number 10 for tea.
In a newspaper article published today, the leaders said the two countries had a "shared understanding and shared vision" on the big issues facing the world.
They reflected in The Times article on how both countries had reaffirmed their commitment to dealing with climate change through the Kyoto Protocol.
They also pointed out that help for emerging economies was needed to ensure rising prosperity was achieved in a sustainable way.
