Tony Blair has hosted a special reception in Downing Street for 150 headteachers.
He thanked them for everything they are doing and everything they will do in the future.
Mr Blair said that this evening was about two things; he wished to, through them, thank everyone involved in Education. Secondly to recognise the changes all of them had gone through.
He told them that one of the things we learn to do as leaders is to manage change, and it is one of the most difficult things to do in any organisation.
He added:
"By your creativity and innovation you continually make a difference to the people you teach.
"You are an inspiration to the pupils and students you have taught your influence will be with them for the rest of their lives"
