New appointments to the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointments of Mr Jonathan Hudson and Mr Henry Owen-John as Commissioners of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales both for a period of five years.

Biographical details

Jonathan Hudson has been an Information Technology practitioner for forty years and a member of the British Computer Society since 1968. Since 1993 he has run his own consultancy business specialising in the use of Information Technology to enable business change. Jonathan has undertaken many assignments, mostly in the public sector, for large and small organisations across the United Kingdom and for overseas governments. Prior to 1993 he was a senior consultant in Deloitte and Touche and had careers in the Civil Service, and the private sector in information technology.

Henry Owen-John has a degree in Ancient History and Archaeology and is a Member of the Institute of Field Archaeologists and Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries. He worked for the Glamorgan Gwent Archaeological Trust from 1977 to 1991. Since then he has worked for English Heritage, firstly as an Inspector of Ancient Monuments and currently as Planning and Development Director of the North West Region. He takes a lead role in the implementation of cultural change and modernisation, and building partnerships which benefit the historic environment.
