Archdeaconry of Lewes and Hastings

The Queen has approved that the Reverend Philip Hugh Jones, Vicar of Southwater, in the Diocese of Chichester, be appointed to the Archdeaconry of Lewes and Hastings.

Notes for Editors

Philip Jones (aged 53) was formerly a solicitor before studying at Chichester Theological College. He served from 1994 to 1997 as Curate at Horsham, Chichester. Since 1997 he has been Vicar at Southwater, Chichester and Rural Dean of Horsham since 2002.

Philip Jones is married to Anne and they have four children. His interests include ornithology, music, choral singing and medieval history.
